Dexco Polymers Announces SIS Grade for Improved
Die Cuttability
Houston, Texas (10/23/2003) - Dexco Polymers LP, a
Dow Chemical/ExxonMobil Venture, introduces a new
high di-block, 4-arm radial Styrene-Isoprene-Styrene
(SIS) product, VectorÒ
DPX 586. This new grade has low migration
characteristics providing significantly improved die
cuttability for labelstocks. It is also generating
interest for specialty tape applications.
Vector DPX 586 was designed for its low melt
viscosity, high adhesion properties and high shear
characteristics, providing customers with
formulating flexibility and processing efficiency.
With Dexco’s dedicated manufacturing lines and
sequential polymerization technology permitting
precise di-block level control, versatile new
products are possible meeting today’s stringent
market demands.
"This new product is the latest in our broad
portfolio of over 20 commercial grades and another
12 in various stages of development based on
patented technology," said Chris Mudd, Dexco General
Manager. "Dexco Polymers is celebrating its 15th
year of operation producing Vector Styrenic Block
Copolymers and has demonstrated tremendous sales
growth globally, which has enabled the business to
more than double its capacity over this time."
The
Vector products, Styrene-Isoprene-Styrene and
Styrene-Butadiene-Styrene Block Copolymers, are
primarily sold into adhesive, asphalt blending, and
polymer modification end uses. If you want to learn
