PRESS RELEASE
Dexco Polymers LP commercializes a new Styrenic Block Copolymer for label applications.
HOUSTON – Dexco Polymers LP has commercialized a new grade of Vector® styrenic block copolymers designed specifically for the hot melt adhesive label market. Developed under the designation DPX 586A, this new commercial block copolymer, Vector 4186A, has a patented, 4-arm radial styrene-isoprene-styrene (SIS) block copolymer structure with a high styrene-isoprene diblock content. “This polymer was designed to improve the die cuttability performance in labelstock applications,” said Chris Mudd, General Manager, Dexco Polymers. “It has a low melt viscosity, allowing low coating temperatures, high adhesion properties, and it demonstrates low migration characteristics into labelstock.”
This new block copolymer can also work in other pressure sensitive adhesive applications that require low viscosity and high cohesive strength properties, such as masking tape and specialty tapes. To learn more you can visit our website ( HYPERLINK "http://www.dexcopolymers.com" www.dexcopolymers.com) or stop by the ExxonMobil Chemical booth at the World Adhesive Conference in Miami this April 20-23.
PRESS RELEASE
Dexco Polymers LP introduces two new high efficiency styrenic block copolymers for the hot melt and pressure sensitive adhesive markets.
HOUSTON – Dexco Polymers LP has developed styrene-isoprene-styrene block copolymers (SIS) that can be used in demanding hot melt adhesive (HMA) and pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) applications at reduced polymer loads. Vector® DPX 618 and DPX 619 are new 4-arm radial block copolymers that allow formulators to achieve desired adhesive performance while using less polymer in the adhesive formulations. DPX 618 is a high styrene, SIS block copolymer designed for non-woven applications, such as an elastic attachment adhesive, where high temperature shear resistance is required. DPX 619 is a lower styrene version designed for PSA and adhesive applications that require lower shear resistance at elevated temperatures.
“Dexco Polymers has been focusing its R&D resources on inventing new polymers that offer lower cost solutions to the adhesive market,” said Chris Mudd, General Manager Dexco Polymers. “By using up to 25% less polymer for the same adhesive performance, these patented 4-arm radials offer substantial savings to the adhesive formulator.” These new products are well suited for a wide range of applications as they do not use TNPP antioxidants. To learn more you can visit our website (www.dexcopolymers.com) or stop by the ExxonMobil Chemical booth at the World Adhesive Conference in Miami this April 20-23.
March 25-27, 2008
Chris Mudd, Dexco Polymers’ President, will be one of the speakers at the Chemical Market Associates, Inc. (CMAI) 23rd Annual World Petrochemical Conference which will be held in Houston, Texas March 25-27, 2008.
January 2008
January 2008 marked two years of work without an OSHA recordable injury in the Vector manufacturing plant! We are proud of this accomplishment and the fact that records such as this happen because of employee commitment and not by accident or luck.
New Patent Issued
Dexco's latest U.S. patent was recentl issued, "Adhesives with Improved Die-Cutting Performance" ( No. 7,288,590). This highlights our expertise in developing high-performance polymers for the die-cuttable adhesive industry.
