VECTOR 4111A
is a linear, pure SIS triblock copolymer with
narrow molecular weight distribution. It is
a low styrene, low modulus copolymer. It has
no residual diblock thereby providing enhanced
elasticity over SIS/SI blends with comparable
styrene content. It has outstanding melt processibility
and cohesive strength making is a polymer
of choice for such applications such as hot
melt adhesives (e.g., packaging tapes) and
elastomeric compounds (e.g., stretchable films).
VECTOR 4113A is a blend
of a linear triblock copolymer (SIS) and a
diblock (SI) copolymer. The SI diblock is
about half the molecular weight of the SIS
triblock. The SIS/SI blend is a very soft
copolymer due its low styrene content. It
is design for use in pressure sensitive applications
such as tapes and labels. It also has outstanding
melt processibility.
Like VECTOR 4113A, VECTOR
4114A is also a blend of SIS triblock and SI
diblock with the same styrene content. However,
its SI diblock concentration is much higher
than Vector 4113A (42% range) resulting in
a softer, lower viscosity, lower modulus copolymer
suitable for pressure sensitive label applications
requiring good die-cuttability. These properties
are also very useful in modifying the modulus
properties of olefinic polymers.
VECTOR 4211A is a linear,
pure triblock copolymer. It has a higher styrene
content than VECTOR 4111A, thus providing higher
modulus as well as creep and heat resistance.
These attributes are very useful in designing
film and compounds with high elasticity. The
properties of VECTOR 4211 are also particularly
suited in formulating adhesives for disposables
that require high cohesive strength, low creep
compliance, and low viscosity at low application
temperatures.
VECTOR 4215A is a blend
of SIS triblock and SI diblock copolymer with
higher styrene (30%) and slightly lower diblock
content. Its higher styrene
content leads to higher modulus, higher temperature
end-use, and enhanced creep resistance. It
is designed for use in hot melt adhesive applications
such as disposable adhesives requiring superior
cohesive strength and heat resistance along
with low creep compliance.
VECTOR 4230 is a styrene-isoprene
radial copolymer with a styrene content centered
at 20.5%. It is made with a patented coupling
process that yields a polymer primarily with
a 4-arm radial architecture. The process also
has the flexibility to target a wide range
of coupling efficiency, with that of VECTOR
4230 targeted at 70%, i.e., 30% diblock. The
radial structure provides viscosity shear
thinning as well as higher modulus, cohesive
strength, and heat resistance versus linear
SIS/SI with comparable styrene content and
MFR. The properties of VECTOR 4230 are ideally
suited for pressure sensitive applications
requiring high strength, low viscosity, and
easy melt processing.
VECTOR 4411A is a linear,
pure SIS triblock with the highest styrene
content of our SIS gradeslate. It has high
modulus, enhanced creep resistance, low viscosity,
and superior heat resistance. It is also the
hardest and least elastic of the SIS family
of products. It is a high performance, flexible
thermoplastic polymer that can be blended
with medium or low styrene SIS and/or SBS
copolymers to improve cohesive strength. It
is designed for use as a compatibilizer in
styrenic/olefinic blends. It is a powerful
formulating tool in hot melt adhesives that
can benefit for its unique attributes.
